F1 to come to Thailand 2014

BANGKOK, 29 October 2012: The Sports Authority of Thailand confirmed, Friday, the Kingdom will host a Formula 1 Grand Prix in 2014. SAT governor, Kanokphand Chulakasem, said the country would definitely get the green light to stage a Formula 1 race  in November 2014, using the name F1 Grand Prix of Thailand. “Formula 1 has decided to include Thailand in its 2014 season calendar with a race slated for November,” he claimed. There has been no independent confirmation from the F1 brand owners. “The government will fund 60% of the cost, with the rest coming from sponsors including Red Bull and Singha Beer group.” The SAT governor said talks were proceeding between F1 supremo Bernie Ecclestone and representatives of Red Bull chief Chalerm Yoovidhya.
